Justin Bieber Advises Ed Sheeran Not to “Do Something Stupid”

If music doesn’t work out, maybe Justin Bieber can switch gears and become a career counselor. He’s already practicing, doling out some (admittedly unsolicited) advice to fellow songwriter Ed Sheeran.
ET Online reports that during a recent BBC Radio 1 interview, Bieber offered up some wisdom for his friend.
“Me and Ed aren’t super close but he’s someone who I consider a friend and I really appreciate his music,” Bieber explained. “I appreciate who he is as a person. He’s an inspiration to a lot of young people—he makes awesome music that people are inspired by and that people laugh to, cry to and I think it’s important in music to have those people who bring the emotion out of you.”

Even though Bieber admits that he and Sheeran aren’t best friends, he’s not exaggerating to call Sheeran at least a casual friend. The two did collaborate on writing Bieber’s hit “Love Yourself.”
“There’s something about [Sheeran] that just makes you like him. He’s very likable and very, very talented,” Bieber said.
But being likable isn’t enough in the entertainment industry. As Bieber knows all too well, artists also have to be aware of the constant scrutiny that surrounds them.
“We gotta make sure he doesn’t do something stupid to mess it all up,” he advised.
The advice is solid, but we have faith in Sheeran—he’s never given us a reason to worry that he’ll “mess it all up.”
